Archbishop NIKON visits Maine
Our Mission was honored to host His Eminence Archbishop NIKON during his first visit to Maine for the weekend of June 28-29.
A beautiful vespers was served in Old Town on Saturday night with a meal and discussion after. On Sunday morning HIs Eminence served a Hierarchical Divine Litugy with us. The choir and Clergy servedjoined together in prayerful unity with the entire congreagation. At a meal after the service discussion was held on how to grow the mission with Diocesan support. At the urging of our Archbishop, we are encouraged to be more proactive in meeting the needs of the mission, and to keep the unity of the faith in love between our paople at all locations by working toward strengthening the Bangor metropolitan area presence. It is hoped that in time we will be able to have ordained ministers here full-time working for the planting of Orthodox Parishes here in Maine.
His Eminence was accompanied by Fr Joh Kreta, DONE Chancellor, and a ROCOR Subdeacon joined him for the trip.
