The Orthodox Church is that very Church which has maintained a continuity of faith and love with the earliest Christian communities. It was founded by Christ and has been sustained by the Holy Spirit through upheaval, persecution, and up to the present day. Orthodoxy believes that she has preserved and taught the historic Christian Faith, without error and distortion, from the time of the Apostles. The following articles have been written to help you understand Christ and His Church, but they serve only as an introduction. One must always remember that it is not enough to simply know about God, one must coming to know God Himself-- personally and intimately. Intellectual pursuit absolutely has its place if we are to offer our whole selves to God, but it is imperative that we don't reduce our relationship with God to mere intellectual knowledge. Please do prioritize coming to know Christ through His body the Church, through the scriptures, and through practicing the Christian life.
